The orange and gray gremlin hybrid was sitting in the floor of his room, holding his paws over his chest and folding his ears, wishing that the pain he felt would stop. "What's wrong with you?" He heard a voice ask. He turned to the cat that was sitting on the tree branch out his window, knowing by the red eyes who it was. "I don't understand why it hurts so much." Lucky whined, keeping his paws on his chest, "It was years ago when that happened. Why is it hurting now?" "You need to get that necklace." The dark protector said jumping into the window, "It's the only thing keeping you from having a normal life again." "You call this normal!?" The gremlin growled, "This is anything but normal! I never should've listened to you!" "You're in too deep to back out now." The cat reminded, "Just get that necklace from Trigger Happy, and you'll have the paranormal powers needed to keep you from feeling the stab wounds from your past." "It hurt less in the past." Lucky whimpered, "I died instantly then." He looked up, watching the cat jump back out the window onto the tree branch. "Hey!" He called, "What happens if Roller Brawl or Trigg catch you sneaking in like this?" "I'll act like I was attacking you." The cat smirked before climbing down the tree and leaving.

"If any other vampire posses something they don't feel this kind of pain." Lucky reminded as he walked beside of Popfizz the next day. "That's because they have their powers." Popfizz explained, "If you were wearing your necklace you wouldn't be dying right now." "Then we need to get it." Lucky said, "We have to take it from Trigg." "It's not going to be that easy." Popfizz sighed, "Trigg isn't going to just trust me or you with something that special to him right now." "What if he give's it to that little imposter that's been living in my room?" Lucky growled. "I don't know, but I do know it would give the imposter your powers." Popfizz said, "What he'd do with them... Eon only knows."

At that very moment, the gremlin hybrid walked into his parents room where Trigger Happy was looking for something in his nightstand. "Hey dad..." Lucky said nervously walking in, "Whatcha doin?" "Nothing important." Trigger Happy shrugged without looking up. "Oh... Cool." Lucky forced a smile. Trigger Happy glanced at him for a moment, his forced grin reminded him or something, and it wasn't his son. "Anyway dad, I was wondering if I could have my necklace back?" "Why?" Trigger Happy asked, shutting the drawer in the night stand and crossing his arms. "Because it's mine..." Lucky said shyly, "And I miss it... I feel naked when I'm not wearing it..." Trigger Happy started growling a little, laying his ears back, and making the hybrid Lucky lower his and back up nervously. "You know what, never mind." Lucky forced another smile, "I'll just go." He turned and went to the door only for it to be shut with him inches away. He turned and gulped as he looked at Trigg holding the door closed. "Who are you!?" The orange gremlin snapped. "What are you talking about? I'm Lucky." Lucky shrugged. "No you're not!" Trigger Happy growled, "My Lucky was nothing like you! Who are you, really?" "TRIGG!" Roller Brawls voice snapped. She'd come in from a side entrance and was standing at the other door with her arms crossed angrily, "Just what do you think you're doing?" "Roller Brawl, you can't honestly believe this is Lucky can you!?" Trigger Happy whined, "He acts nothing like him." "He's been through a lot over these past few months." Roller Brawl growled as Lucky ran and hid behind her, "You'd act different too if you'd been stuck underground in a coffin for this long." Trigger Happy only looked back at Lucky, his ears folding again as he growled. "Trigg cut it out!" Roller Brawl hissed, "Honestly, you're acting worse than your father!" "I am nothing like Tiberius!" Trigger Happy snarled. "Give me the necklace." Roller Brawl said, narrowing her eyes as she held out a hand. Trigger Happy took a step back, putting a paw over the tech/undead symbol that Lucky had always worn. "No..." He growled. "Fine, be a jerk." Roller Brawl hissed, "But leave Lucky alone!"

That night the cat Lucky was curled up on one side of Popfizz's couch, shivering under the blanket Whirlwind had given to him. "Lucky are you alright?" Whirlwind asked, walking over to him and putting a paw on his forehead, "Sweetie you're burning up." "I-I-I'm f-fine." Lucky trembled. Whirlwind didn't look convinced. "Poppy!" She called and drug the gremlin out of his lab, "What's wrong with Lucky, can you help him?" Popfizz just let out a sigh, "No Whirly I can't. The only thing that can help Lucky right now is Trigg's necklace." Lucky felt like a hole opened up in his heart. He was going to die and no one could help him. Whirlwind rubbed the fur on his head sadly. "Try and get some rest honey, we're gonna figure this out I promise." She said as she turned off the lamp that was next to the couch, "Moji, Chimera, it's bed time." "Momma, you can't tell me when to go to bed anymore." Chimera growled. "Just go to your room and let Lucky try to sleep." Whirlwind said giving her daughter a look. Before Lucky could work up the nerve to tell them he was afraid to be alone they were already gone and in their own rooms in bed. He laid still for a moment feeling sick on his stomach. He didn't want to go to sleep for fear of not opening his eyes again, but suddenly his mind went elsewhere as his eyes turned red. Now the dark protector, the cat forced himself to stand up despite the pain he still felt. Knowing he had to check on someone, he left the house, even with his head aching and the world spinning...

The cat climbed the tree closest to the window at Trigger Happy's house. As always the window was opened and waiting on him, he stopped once he reached the top of the tree and looked inside the room, tilting his head in confusion. The gremlin hybrid was sitting on the floor, reading a comic book from the 80's, surrounded by several unhealthy snacks, and had music playing from a radio. Not just any music either, the song Good to be alive by Meghan Trainor. "What are you doing!?" He growled jumping in the window. "I'm living." The gremlin answered without looking up from his comic book. He then grabbed some potato chips from a bag and put them in his mouth. "You're acting ridiculous!" The dark protector growled at "Lucky" if that's what you wanna call him, "You're going to get yourself caught eating like that." "Dude, I have not had anything to eat in thirty four years, I think I'm allowed to pig out." The imposter Lucky growled before eating some more chips. "What about your music?" The dark protector hissed, "What the heck!?" "Hey I like music, and I've always wanted to sing this song and mean it." Lucky shrugged, "I might have been "living" but I wasn't alive before. So now that I am more than an object, I want to enjoy it before your evil plan fails." "It won't fail if you'll stop acting like an 80's kid!" The dark protector snapped before unplugging the radio. "I am an 80's kid." The fake Lucky reminded with a smirk. Suddenly his ears drooped and he put his paws over his chest again, feeling a sharper pain than before. "What's wrong kid? Still feel that knife jabbing through your back?" The cat smirked as he watched the fake Lucky sit down on the floor, bending over from the pain. "You're a monster..." He growled looking up at the cat. "No, you were the monster remember?" The dark protector snickered, "And thanks to me, you're a normal kid again. So if you want to stop feeling that pain you'll get that necklace for me." "Whatever..." The imposter sighed looking down at the ground sadly. "So now that we've agreed for you to stop with the nonsense stuff, let's try and do something with your eyes." "My eyes!?" The fake Lucky gasped looking up quickly, his blue eyes shimmered when he did. "Your eyes are a dead giveaway." The cat shrugged, "I'll never know how through all of the possession crap you kept your original eye color anyway." "You can do anything you want to me but you're not changing my eye color!" The imposter growled, forcing himself to stand up. "Chill man, why so defensive over eye color?" The dark protector shrugged. "I..." the fake Lucky looked down at his paws, "I have my mommy's eyes..." He whimpered, "That's all I have left of her..." "Whatever." The cat growled, "I have to get outta here. Don't do anything stupid." With that he left...

The real Lucky opened his eyes on the couch. He had no idea that the dark protector had been taking over his mind and going to visit his partner in crime. He had no idea that he was the one who started all of this chaos. All he knew was that he was scared. He made himself stand up, still shivering all the while, and he went into Whirlwind and Popfizz's room. "Popfizz..." He whispered when he was right beside the gremlin, next to their bed. Popfizz was clearly dreaming as always but this was important to Lucky so he needed to wake him up. "Popfizz..." He repeated a little louder. Popfizz's blue and yellow eyes opened quickly and he jumped up, he hadn't gotten to the scary part of his nightmare yet so his claws didn't extend and threaten Lucky. "Lucky..." He yawned, "What are you doing up?" "Can... C-could I maybe..." Lucky's ears drooped as he quickly got too shy to ask the question. "You wanna sleep with us?" Popfizz asked, sliding closer to Whirlwind who was still snoring. "If that's okay..." Lucky said glancing at the blue gremlin. "It's fine." Popfizz said in a sleepy tone as he laid back down, turned to the side facing Whirlwind. Lucky waited a second before climbing under the covers and lying on his side, facing the wall. Being back to back with one of the Skylanders who'd faced death and won countless time's did help his fear a little, yet he still wished he was home. He missed his dad, and even his mom too even though the two of them hadn't been close in awhile. He still had a hard time falling asleep for a few seconds, but eventually closed his eyes and let himself rest...
To Be Continued...
Omg I almost forgot to upload this. Anyhow, the imposter has his "mommy's" eyes... Weird?
